Meatism: Earth Enemy Number One - by Jeff Popick

Meatism: Earth Enemy Number One - by Jeff Popick: "We all know that our planet is in serious trouble. The fact that you really care is great, so take this one-question test to find out if you are a true environmentalist: So what did you have for dinner last night? Not to worry, I'm not trying to get chummy, it's just that one simple question is actually the whole test. Yep, that's right. What you had for dinner last night is the determining factor on whether or not you are a true environmentalist.

By far, the number one cause of our environmental problems is meat (and dairy). Meat is the cause of the destruction of the rain forests. Some people think that rain forests are being cut down so that we can reap the lumber, and also to make paper products such as toilet paper from the trees. While lumber and paper can be byproducts from the trees, you must remember that they are just that – byproducts. The main product, and the real reason for cutting down the forests, is to create more land that we can use to raise animals headed for human consumption and to grow more feed for those animals."

Western Psychic Surgery and Reiki - by Patrick Hamouy

Western Psychic Surgery and Reiki - by Patrick Hamouy: "'Miraculous Healing' may be performed when Psychic Surgery is added to Dr Mikao Usui's Reiki healing.

There are basically two different forms of Psychic Surgery

1- The one practised by most Western Psychic Surgeons

2- The one practised by gifted healers such as the famous Filipino Psychic Surgeons. These are also known as 'Bare Hand Surgeons'

Western Psychic Surgery and Reiki explained

All Western Psychic Surgery I have witnessed or heard of in the UK is bloodless. The surgeon works on the etheric body (the aura). He does not penetrate the skin or the bones and does not remove physical matters from within the body.

In my Reiki Masters course, I teach this form of Psychic surgery based on Reiki and on my experience gained from Filipino Bare Hand Surgeons. I have been visiting these surgeons in the Philippines since 1997. I am now able to combine the experience of both Western and Asian forms of surgery into a very powerful method of healing.

The method I teach is simple:

7 Tips to Successfully Changing Your Email Newsletter Service Provider - by Donna Gunter

7 Tips to Successfully Changing Your Email Newsletter Service Provider - by Donna Gunter: "There comes a time in every online business owner's life when you will seriously consider changing email newsletter providers. Making the decision to change your email newsletter service is never an easy one. In fact, I tell my clients to choose wisely the first time they pick a provider, as their subscribers will tire of list-hopping and simply leave the list if they are requested to re-subscribe too many times.

Why would you consider changing providers?"

What is Relativity? - by Burt Jordaan

What is Relativity? - by Burt Jordaan: "Ask someone casually 'what is relativity?' and the answer would normally be that it is a theory that Einstein concocted, or something to that effect. This is not correct.

Galileo Galilei (1632)

Galileo Galilei first described 'the principle of relativity' in 1632 in his 'Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems'. Galileo used the example of a ship traveling at constant speed, without rocking, on a smooth sea; any observer doing motion experiments below the deck would not be able to tell whether the ship was moving or stationary.

This lead Galileo to state that the laws of physics are the same in any system that is moving at a constant speed in a straight line, regardless of its particular speed or direction. Hence, there is no absolute motion and no absolute rest.

This was a far reaching and quite visionary insight by Galileo, more than two centuries ahead of his time. The principle is sometimes called 'Galilean relativity'.

Achieve Your Goals Through Knowledge, Belief and Passion - by John Watson

Achieve Your Goals Through Knowledge, Belief and Passion - by John Watson: "This article takes a look at how one badly injured man survived a day and night in a wild life park where he was surrounded by lions, elephants and hyenas. I, for one, learned a lot from his experience. I hope you will too.

In 2004, Greg Rasmussen, a British born pilot, was tracking a rhino in a Zimbabwe national park. He was using a light plane which went into a wind spin and hit the ground.

He could not shelter in the plane because petrol fuel was leaking and there was risk of explosive fire. His goal was to survive until help could reach him. Greg told the story of how he achieved that goal to Richard and Judy of ITV Channel 4.

The Internet Revolution for Writers - by Jo Ann LeQuang

The Internet Revolution for Writers - by Jo Ann LeQuang: "Sometimes I wonder why anyone would want to pursue a career in freelance writing, scrambling for freelance assignments at the dwindling pool of viable magazines and newspapers in this country, accepting paltry wages, suffering the indignities of editors, and seeing your article with your name published in a weekly newspaper just below the ad for phone sex. All that happened to me, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

All that is true, but it may also be the best time in history to be a writer. Way back in the 15th century, a German inventor named Johannes Gutenberg invented a new type of printing press. He didn't invent the printing press; people had known how to put ink on paper mechanically for some time. Until Johannes Gutenberg's invention, printing was done from fixed solid plates that could not be changed.

Gutenberg invented movable type. He invented a sort of rack or holder for letters, which could be inserted into the tracks. From this, we get the term 'type-setting' because those metal letters were literally set into the rack. The real revolution that Gutenberg caused was this: printed materials got much, much cheaper. Books no longer belonged just to royalty or the very wealthy. Movable type made cheap books (and their companion, advertising) possible.

Infant colic - the causes, symptoms and treatments - by Tina Allen- LMT- CIIT- CIMI

Infant colic - the causes, symptoms and treatments - by Tina Allen- LMT- CIIT- CIMI: "What is Colic? Often defined as sudden bursts of pain, which usually occur in the abdominal region, but also occur in other areas of the body.

(Paroxysms - . A sudden uncontrollable attack; 'a paroxysm of giggling'; 'a fit of coughing'.)

But really that doesn't answer your question. In terms of babies, we know that colic causes babies to cry and cry, much more than other babies who are not suffering from colic. What are signs of Colic? When babies with colic cry, they may draw their arms and legs in tight toward their bodies and appear to be in pain. Or other times they stretch out their arms and legs and stiffen, then draw up tight again. You may notice that baby's face turns bright red from excessive crying.

To Accomplish 20 Times as Much, Start by Understanding the Value of Measuring Performance - by Donald Mitchell

To Accomplish 20 Times as Much, Start by Understanding the Value of Measuring Performance - by Donald Mitchell: "Measurements Help Erase Complacency

Most people view the measuring process too narrowly. Here's an example: A corporate planner went to a seminar given by corporate strategist Peter Drucker. The planner asked Drucker to pick the best single measure of corporate performance. Drucker replied, 'My dear sir, you obviously know nothing. There is no single measure of corporate performance that is any good. Use them all and try to develop new ones, and each will teach you something you need to know.' Drucker's point was that measurements are highly subjective and imperfect. Would-be stallbusters are going to need many more measures.

I'd Rather Not Know That!

One CEO tells another Peter Drucker story about measurements that may fit you. Drucker had presented a seminar on personal improvement to the CEO's U.S. Air Force group years earlier. Each man was instructed to measure in great detail how he spent his time for a week. The CEO found this task to be a life-changing experience. The measurements revealed all of his bad habits and put the CEO on guard to avoid those bad habits in the future. Unfortunately, this CEO's example is rarely followed. Few want to know how they spend their time or what their output is."

The Wonderful World of Probate (and Why to Avoid it) - by John Fraker

The Wonderful World of Probate (and Why to Avoid it) - by John Fraker: "When a decedent dies with a valid will, but without a Living Trust, their estate is subject to Probate. Probate translated literally means 'to prove the will.' The probate process, in it's origin, was designed to prove that the decedent actually had died, and that the will in question was the actual will belonging to the deceased.

Today, probate is best described as a court-supervised process by which a decedent's assets are gathered, valued, and distributed according to the decedent's last wishes, as stated in his or her will.

In addition, the probate process also requires a formal process by which all creditors (or potential creditors) of the deceased, known and unknown, are notified of the death, and given the opportunity to make a claim on the decedent's estate.

Due to the formal, court-supervised nature of the Probate process, the average length of a probate case can be anywhere from 6 months to a year and a half, depending on the complexity of the case and a variety of issues.

Some important issues when considering whether or not to avoid probate include:"

How to Be Ridiculously Rich and Spiritual, Too: A Nod to Today’s ePreneur - by Susan L Reid

How to Be Ridiculously Rich and Spiritual, Too: A Nod to Today’s ePreneur - by Susan L Reid: "The ePreneur is an up-and-coming concept in the world of entrepreneurs. The 'e' in ePreneur stands for 'enlightened.' Well, I'm not so sure about the enlightened part! Perhaps it's better to say that the e encompass all entrepreneurs who desire to build their businesses upon the foundational mix of solid business acumen and inner spiritual wisdom.

Today's ePreneur apologizes neither for being financially prosperous nor for including the spiritual dimension in their business. The accumulation of wealth and success goes hand-in-hand with being spiritual, to the ePreneur.

If You've Seen One Prosperity, You've Seen Them All

Many people mistakenly believe that there are many definitions of prosperity. I disagree. There is but one definition of prosperity with limitless ways to manifest it in your life.

The Basics of Writing a Research Paper - by Sharon White

The Basics of Writing a Research Paper - by Sharon White: "A research paper is one of the most important and common requirements in high school and college. Students will definitely experience writing a research paper at one point in their lives.

A research paper is a formal written report which makes use of the scientific method. This sets it apart from other academic paper requirements such as essays and book reviews. Basically, a research paper presents information in support of a certain view or idea on a specific issue or topic.

There are two main types of a research paper: analytical and argumentative papers."

A Conundrum Called Adware! - by Srikanth G.K Hegde

A Conundrum Called Adware! - by Srikanth G.K Hegde: "We, as dedicated computer and software users, have traversed a long way from those bad days, when our computers used to get attacked by vicious sounding viruses, Trojans, spyware and malwares. We are still are under constant threat from attack by invisible viruses or spyware. As the word “spyware” became a household name, and when it started creating havoc on thousands of computer systems the world over, security experts and anti-virus software professionals started taking notice of the menace posed by these spyware modules.

Strangely, all these spywares were designed and propagated by the so called software majors! However, with the passage of time, the word “spyware” became a dirty word among computer users, which needed to be avoided at any cost! As a result, everyone started to think that spyware is a piece of software that closely monitors your activities on computers and reports them back to its maker. In fact, all software users were neatly outflanked by these smart operators, who surreptitiously planted their evil creations in the computer systems. It was a peculiar situation, when people simply abhorred the word “spyware”, and they got irritated when it was suggested to them that their computer systems were being spied upon by these spyware modules. As a result, it was so convenient to label these so"

Hesitate to Procrastinate to Accomplish 20 Times as Much - by Donald Mitchell

Hesitate to Procrastinate to Accomplish 20 Times as Much - by Donald Mitchell: "WARNING! Watch Out for Risky Inaction

Procrastinators believe that if they do nothing long enough, any bad situation will take care of itself. Or if it does not resolve itself, it will simply go away. Many even insist that procrastination is a form of work, explaining that they are letting their thinking percolate. With that point of view, they feel no concern about delay.

In most situations almost any direct action is better than no action. If nothing else, you'll learn from what you try and then refocus in a more productive direction. In support of this view, Thomas Edison made thousands of unsuccessful attempts to invent a practical light bulb. Edison saw what he was doing as 'learning' rather than 'failing.' Clearly, his approach speeded up the process.

When fear is an element, that fear can create a disastrous procrastination stall. In the 1930s, a sudden wind swept an American helium-filled airship aloft from its moorings. The rising ship carried away some of the rope crew as well. Most let go right away and suffered no worse than sprains. Others held on until they lost their grip. Each time a man let go, the dirigible leapt higher. Those who hesitated longest fell to their deaths."

How To Write An Article That Will Get Published By Someone Other Than Your Mother! - by Brian Ankner

How To Write An Article That Will Get Published By Someone Other Than Your Mother! - by Brian Ankner: "When writing articles and website content, be sure to have your readers 'interest' in mind. Research has proven that the majority of Internet readers are likely to breeze over the content to find the specific information they are searching for and are rarely reading the page from top to bottom.

You should structure good titles, a few subtitles, and use bullet points to assist your readers while they scan your page. Many people simply scan a pages subtitles to quickly determine whether they want to continue reading the article or go on to another page.

Surfers prefer a site laid out like this so that it's easier to use, therefore encouraging them to return to your site regularly in search of more content. The more often your readers come back, the more chances you will have for them to access other affiliate links, adsense ads and pay per lead advertisements.

The Secrets of A Mothers Touch – It’s Like No Other! - by Iris Shamble

The Secrets of A Mothers Touch – It’s Like No Other! - by Iris Shamble: "A Mothers touch is different. It seems Dad always says, 'Go ask your mother'. One thing about being a mother, the touch of love, joy, protection, and care comes naturally. These are just a few attributes a mothers touch produce. When your child is sick or not feeling well-who does he call? Mothers! Dad could be sitting right next to your child. But nothing is like a Mothers Touch!

When you find out you are going to be a mother, you change physically and emotionally. Preparing for this new role is challenging, most of all it can be rewarding for you and your children. Along with the touch of a mother, we must also make plans to meet our children needs--financially, spiritually and emotionally. God's Word has given us clear instruction for training our child. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. That touch of instruction carries great rewards, however motherhood is not easy! We can't give up on any little obstacle: We must be determined to be the best mother we can.

Speculative and Theoretical - by JD Howard

Speculative and Theoretical - by JD Howard: "Truth, good and beauty. Every man thrives to accomplish and have their own perception of the 3. One man's good can be another man's evil. Right and wrong is, in aspect, wrong and right.

The true knowledge and perception of one or the other lies not in man. It existed before everyone of us and our creation. They were existent, in their aspects, before we derived on earth. Truth existed before every man knew they were even existent. Every man should have doubts about truth one way or the other. The truth a man believe as truth should be speculative, by that man. We can favor our own informed or derived perspective as a truth. We can be influenced and misled one way or the other and/or persuaded by our perceptions.

That which causes construction and destruction to lives and things could be our most sound influence of structure in distinguishing true values and truth of our suppositions to composing real truth. It seems to be the most basic implementation."

Who is looking after your baby? - by Cecilia Koh

Who is looking after your baby? - by Cecilia Koh: "As parents, we want to look after our babies ourselves but if this choice is not feasible, what are our options on alternative child care facilities?

Looking after your baby yourself

Some questions you and your husband may have to consider
• Can you make do with one income?
• Can you work part time or work from home?
Are you able to spend 24 hours a day with your baby?
• If this is your first baby, do you have any support with caring for your baby? This includes physical, emotional and psychological support as it is not always easy looking after a newborn baby."

Depression - A Simple Natural Cure For All - by kelly price

Depression - A Simple Natural Cure For All - by kelly price: "It was given to British children as a supplement during the war due to its high vitamin content for its overall health benefits and was a grandmothers favourite today, new research shows that it also combats and reduces depression.

The supplement is:

Cod liver oil – and it works due to high concentration of omega 3 fatty acids, which are a major component of cod liver oil.

Omega 3 has great overall health benefits anyway and is said to help in terms of improving brain power reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes and protecting against other diseases such as cancer.

Now doctors are seeing its benefits to naturally cure depression.

A recent test looked at studying the health benefits of over 20,000 patients over the age of 40 and showed that those patients that rarely or only had marginal omega 3 consumption suffered more from: Depression, stress and anxiety.

Obliterate Bureaucracy to Speed Up Improvements by 20 Times - by Donald Mitchell

Obliterate Bureaucracy to Speed Up Improvements by 20 Times - by Donald Mitchell: "LIKE RUNNING A MARATHON WEARING COMBAT BOOTS: Bureaucracy-Officialism, Red Tape, and Proliferation

Organizations usually see themselves as smoothly coordinated operations, even when they are not. A baseball analogy can help us see the point. Early in the 20th century, the Chicago Cubs team members Joe Tinkers, Johnny Evers, and Frank Chance were baseball's most celebrated double-play combination. Joe Tinkers would scoop up the ball at shortstop and wing it to Evers covering second base. Evers would touch the bag or tag the runner sliding towards him, then snap the ball to Frank Chance on first before the batter arrived at the bag. 'Tinkers to Evers to Chance' became part of American folk idiom."

The Foundation Of All Desire Is The Desire To Be The Heart by Elysha - by Elysha

The Foundation Of All Desire Is The Desire To Be The Heart by Elysha - by Elysha: "By the tendency of you being lost in your constant attempt of trying to be the mindbody that you are flowing through, you fear what you truly want - the fulfilment of the foundation desire of all desires; the desire to be your heart - and you desire what you cannot ever be fulfilled by - the superficial desires that cover this foundation desire.

Any wonder then, that the fallacy of trying to being who you think you are has become so entrenched that it seems impossible for you to find your way out of it? Yet, here 'you' are, as 'you' have always been, and you realize it not."

Moving On and Beyond the Toxic People and Circumstances in Your Life - by Eugenia Tripputi

Moving On and Beyond the Toxic People and Circumstances in Your Life - by Eugenia Tripputi: "I strongly believe that each of us is on this planet to learn lessons of spirit and grow our souls. In this journey one calls life, one encounters all sorts of challenges and people who will test our strength, challenge our beliefs, rock our foundation, and makes us doubt ourselves. Interestingly enough, these times and people they seem to come in “bunches” make keeping our inner balance much more challenging… But not impossible!

The related scenarios I have personally experienced have to do with illnesses that hit us unexpectedly and then finds out one has to live with them for the rest of our lives. Furthermore, the people who were our “good friends” when they thought one could be of use to them but turn into our backstabbing enemies –even making hurtful stories about us- and disposing of our persona as if we were an outdated magazine. Or… how about that brother, sister, mother, or other relative and friends who used to be close to us but are too busy to call now that one needs them the most, but they cannot handle seeing us in pain? The Power Of Aromatherapy On Menopause - by CLTaylor

The Power Of Aromatherapy On Menopause - by CLTaylor: "Aromatherapy is typically associated with complementary and alternative medicine. It uses essential oils and other scented compounds from plants for the purpose of affecting a person's mood or health.

Aromatherapy can be used to heal symptoms of physical, psychological and emotional discomfort when women move into the perimenopause and menopause years. This phase of life can represent more than half of their adult life if she lives to be 80 years old. So, we need all the menopause relief we can get!

Menopause is typically defined as the time when a woman's menstrual cycle stops for at least 12 months. But what about the years leading up to that final stopping point? There are many reported symptoms of what physicians now refer to as perimenopause that can begin as early as 30 for some women, but typically starts after 45. "

Daily Precautions For Asthma Patients - by Tom Alter

Daily Precautions For Asthma Patients - by Tom Alter: "Asthma is a chronic disease of the respiratory system and may turn even fatal at times. It is therefore important for the asthma patients to take proper care and precautions regularly. Asthma patients suffer from attacks that enforce the system to breathe with difficulty. Wheezing, choking, gasping for breath and suffocation are the symptoms of asthmatic attack.

The attacks may last up to several minutes and leave a person thoroughly exhausted. There can be severe organ damage due to problem in respiration during the asthma attack. Also the system may suffer from lack of oxygen for a longer duration of time. It is therefore imperative to exercise proper caution and avoid the onset of an attack to the extent possible.
