Food and Nutrition in the News : 2006 - by Danna Schneider

Food and Nutrition in the News : 2006 - by Danna Schneider: "The year 2006 has really been a landscape for changes in food and new and exciting news about food and nutrition, hasn't it? Just a few of the news items that come to my mind in this arena are the fact that cloned foods have been approved by the FDA, and the ever so controversial trans fat ban that has been a raging debate for much of 2006, and may likely continue into 2007.

So, let's take a look at the 2006 food headlines, and see why this may go down in history as one of the most interesting years in the history of food and nutrition!"

Exercise Nutrition: How To Eat For Energy When Working Out - by Kathryn ONeill

Exercise Nutrition: How To Eat For Energy When Working Out - by Kathryn ONeill: "How many times has this happened to you?

- You psych yourself up mentally (you are GOING to do it!)

- You don the outfit (you can practically feel the energy flowing through your veins!)

- You lace up the running shoes (Nike: Just Do It - that's you.)

- You grab your towel (because ANYONE SERIOUS needs a towel).

Then it's time.

It's time to sweat. It's time to burn the evil fat from your body. You face the treadmill (or stair climber, or rowing machine, or exercise video with the perky aerobics instructor on it).

And you start."

How to Make Consistent Profits Futures Trading - by Martin Chandra

How to Make Consistent Profits Futures Trading - by Martin Chandra: "The issue of direct access is an important one and it becomes more important the more short term your trading is. The market can change from a state of seeming paralysis to one of shocking volatility and activity in a flash. The length of time it takes between you deciding to enter an order and the order actually being in the market is obviously important.

When I first started trading I used a phone broker and was dismayed that my fills would often be so far from the price the market was trading when I first entered the order.

The first time I visited the trading floor, I discovered why. When I called in an order, first my discount broker would check my account equity, then he would call a phone booth on the floor, the phone broker on the floor would then write the order down and pass it on to a booth next to the appropriate pit, at that booth my order would be written down again and then signaled to a broker in the pit to be executed.

As you can imagine this would take quite a long time, even longer of course if the market was very active, as this would mean that the broker in the pit would be too occupied to take new orders. Compare this to my experience of trading as a pit trader. In the pit I was in the heart of the market and could observe every single order as it was executed (there was no delay in my price feed!).

To initiate a trade, whether it was to buy or sell at the market, or join the bid or the offer, all I had to do was open my mouth. You can start to see the huge advantage that trading on the floor gave me over off floor traders; and that doesn't take into consideration the fact that my round trip costs fell by 96%."

Top Communication Problems And How To Solve Them - by Brenda Shoshanna

Top Communication Problems And How To Solve Them - by Brenda Shoshanna: "Without effective communication no relationship stands a chance. We talk and listen all day long, but only a small part of real communications take place in words. Beyond that, although our partner is listening to what we are saying, it does not mean they are hearing or understanding what we mean.

While listening, most of the time the other person is planning what he or she will say in return, or they are tuning out, or building up some kind of fantasy about what's really going on. Especially when we are fighting, when it is more important than ever to be understood, words go flying back and forth like arrows with the intention of hurting. True resolution to the problem is then very be far away.

What are the secrets of effective communication? How do we truly get what we want, and give the other what they are needing? Let's look at the top five communication problems, and see how they can be solved. Once this is done we're off to a wonderful start in building the kind of relationship we have always wanted."

Panic Attack Treatments Exposed - by Aron Wallad

Panic Attack Treatments Exposed - by Aron Wallad: "Panic attacks can be alarming. They can happen by chance or after someone is exposed to various events that may prompt a panic attack. For some people a panic attack treatment is essential to getting by with their day.

Reacting to stress, panic is a physical reaction. Called the 'fight or flight' response, panic is a usual response to danger and is actually your body's signal to get out of harm's way. When there is no basis of danger and panic sets in it can be linked to two causes - tension or possibly, a panic disorder. Panic attack treatments will lessen the problem

A panic attack is a distinct phase of controlling dread or discomfort, in which four (or more) of the following symptoms developed rapidly and reached a climax within 10 minutes:

Speedy heartbeat, shortness of breath or failure to breath, dizziness or queasiness, sweating, shaking or trembling, a sense of fear or terror, tingling feeling in the fingers or toes, chest pain, hot flashes or chills, thoughts you are going to die or go crazy, trembling or shaking, feeling of choking, de realization (feelings of unreality) or depersonalization (being detached from oneself). Thinking Made Easy - by Saleem Rana

Thinking Made Easy - by Saleem Rana: "Dr. Seuss created a funny little story about Mrs. McCave. She had 23 sons and she named them all Dave. Now when you ask, 'Who Is Dave?' The question, under
normal circumstances, would lead to a normal answer. But if you were to ask her, it
would be baffling.

Similarly, if you ask 'what is thinking?' you tend to baffle your listener.

This is because there is no singular way of thinking.

It has even been said that you can make people do almost anything, except think.

While this is supposed to be funny. It is also sad, in a way.

Because thinking is essential to evolution. Both your own and that of humanity as a whole.

It is also ironic, because all we appear to do all day is think.

Yet can this ceaseless stream of thoughts really be classified as thinking? After all, it seldom results in new ideas, new solutions, or a new way to grow.

From this we can assume that thinking is more than stream-of-consciousness thinking.

It is, in fact, a discipline. "

How to use options to replace stocks or futures for massive profits and less risk - by Wai Hoong Chin

How to use options to replace stocks or futures for massive profits and less risk - by Wai Hoong Chin: "Since options started being trading in exchanges, few people actually use options in their trading or investment. However, recently the market has changed. In 2005, 1.5 billion contracts are being traded in the USA. In CBOE alone, more than $200 billion worth of option contracts are being traded.

More and more individual traders and institutional money managers are interested in options mainly because of their leveraged profit opportunities, ability to limit risk, ability to profit in any market environment, and the flexibility to create various strategies. What this means is that now traders and investors are able to combine different option contracts with different strike prices and different expiration dates to create profitable and suitable strategies for the market environment.

Now the question is how do we use options to replace our current trading or investment strategies? A better question is not only to replace, but to replace in a way that boosts profit potentials and reduces risks."

How to make a winning PowerPoint presentation - by Thomson Chemmanoor

How to make a winning PowerPoint presentation - by Thomson Chemmanoor: "Making a PowerPoint presentation can be considered an accessory to be used by one giving a speech. However, the making of a winning PowerPoint presentation needs a few important pointers to be kept in mind, to be implemented.

First and foremost, it is always better to keep your PowerPoint slides as simple as possible. To do this, make it a point to aim for concise and summarized text and graphics in the slides. This is because they are easier for your audience to digest, and also for you to present. This way, you can be sure that your presentation is more memorable to the audience! If you do have to use clipart in your PowerPoint presentation, remember to manipulate and/or recolor it to suite the template you are using. By doing this, you give your clipart a new lease of life by keeping it with the look and feel of your presentation. For better effects, and dimension, you might also consider adding a shadow to the clipart."

Top 3 Myths On Memory Improvement - by Nishant Kasibhatla: "Improving your memory is a skill and involves a process. Before you initiate this process, it is important to get some facts right about your brain. Nothing is sadder than not being able to take action by believing in certain myths about memory. How do you come out if this?

There are several myths about memory improvement. Here, I have given information on the top 3 myths. I know these are the 'most popular myths', because, the most frequently asked questions people ask me in my training programmes necessarily involve these issues."

Take advantage of the free PowerPoint available on the web - by Thomson Chemmanoor

Take advantage of the free PowerPoint available on the web - by Thomson Chemmanoor: "PowerPoint is software that is very much useful in most of our day to day activities. PowerPoint is not only used for presentations, but it is also used in classrooms by teachers and lecturers to make their lectures more interesting and lively for the class.PowerPoint is found aplenty on the web, and this is the reason why one who is in need of PowerPoint has to use these PowerPoint programs as much as possible!

Some of the PowerPoint programs that are available on the Internet are programs with grids in them. This proves to be useful to the teacher who does graphing with the class, what with the series of empty graphs found here. Teachers who start their days with inspiring quotes from someone could choose a quote from the PowerPoint program of a thought for a day. All one has to do is to download these programs and use them."

Common Sense Calisthenics - by Robert Palmer

Common Sense Calisthenics - by Robert Palmer: "In performing daily life skills, your muscles work against the resistance of your body weight. It only makes sense to strength train using your body weight instead of those fancy weights and equipment in the gym:

1) Strengthen Your Foundation. Train Your Lower Body and Legs.

* Squats: With your feet shoulder-width apart, lower your body as if you were sitting back in a chair until your thighs are parallel with the floor. Keep your back straight and lean slighty forward at the waist. Keep your heels on the floor. Squats work the large muscles of the front and back of the leg as well as the buttocks.

* Alternating Lunges: Stand straight with your hands on your hips and your feet together. Take a long step forward with your right leg and bend your left knee down to the ground. Straighten up until your feet are together. Repeat leading with your left foot. Lunges work the same front, back and rear leg muscles as squats but they are a bit more difficult.

* Squat Jumps: Start squat jumps after you've been doing regular squats for a couple of weeks. The mechanics are the same as for regular squats. When you reach the lowered position simply jump up and repeat. They are more explosive and will give you more power as well as work your calf muscles."

I've Got Cold Feet, Rosy Cheeks And Sunshine In My Heart - by Vanessa Bsirsky

I've Got Cold Feet, Rosy Cheeks And Sunshine In My Heart - by Vanessa Bsirsky: "I feel cheerful, I feel happy, I feel grateful and I feel good.

Why?

Is it because it's snowy, my feet are cold and my cheeks have got a rosy glow ?

No - it's because I can feel a glow from within.

I just experienced the essence of human warmth.

You just experienced what , Vanessa ?

What on earth is the essence of human warmth ?

And why the heck does it matter ?

Furthermore, what do people really mean when they talk about 'being human?'

And what sort of people tend to display a great deal of humanity, character and strength on a regular basis ?

Ok, let's start at the beginning..."

Antioxidants and Free Radicals - The Good and the Bad - by Carol Stack

Antioxidants and Free Radicals - The Good and the Bad - by Carol Stack: "Free Radicals – Damaging our Bodies from Within

Even young people can be victims of unsuccessful aging if they are not providing their bodies with the necessary balance of having enough dietary antioxidants to fight off the free radicals. To understand the value and importance of antioxidants, you must first understand the destructive results of free radicals.

What are free radicals? Scientists have found that the body forms unstable oxygen molecules, called free radicals; every cell produces tens of thousands of them each day.

Free radicals are produced within the body every single day from the different chemical reactions which happen in each individual part of our bodies. Free radicals are produced outside of the body as well, reaching us through sunrays, toxic chemicals in our drinking water, second-hand as well as first-hand smoke, unhealthy foods, bacteria, viruses, radiation, and pollution in general.

The cells of our bodies are now increasingly subject to damage from free radicals due to the high levels of environmental toxins in our diet and the reduced levels of antioxidants in our food to combat free radical damage.

What are Antioxidants?"

The Unheard Third: How to identify, grow, and keep your latent leaders - by Nancy D. Solomon

The Unheard Third: How to identify, grow, and keep your latent leaders - by Nancy D. Solomon: "Leaders lead. Followers follow. And then there's The Unheard Third™: The people in the middle who, for one reason or another, fall through the leadership cracks when they're passed through or passed over. These latent leaders are the next generation achievers whose potential has yet to, or may never be, turned into performance: Failing to distinguish themselves from the rest of the pack, they just blend into the background,. They're leaders, but just not yet. Left untended, The Unheard Third™ grows more and more disengaged, discontented and disheartened. Eventually, they become just another retention statistic.

There are millions of people who are waiting to make a contribution, who are enthusiastic about their work and their lives: They are waiting to let the rest of the world know about both. And companies can either tap into their enormous potential, or waste a precious resource and lose a competitive advantage.

So why do these folks languish under the radar, unrecognized and unrewarded? Though it's not for lack of talent, skill or intelligence the reasons are still plentiful. Remember: un-mined does not imply incapable. (Could one of these describe you?"

The Best Food - by Dr. Randy Wysong

The Best Food - by Dr. Randy Wysong: "Everyone eats so everyone has an opinion about food. But if health is the objective, mere opinion doesn’t count nor does fad or majority rule.

Most people think the average cooked diet based upon official food pyramids is just fine. Some eat predominantly fast food. Others advocate veganism (eating only plant foods), or lacto-ova vegetarianism (plants plus milk and eggs). There are also proponents of special foods such as fresh juices, soybean products and macrobiotic cooked grains and rice.

Everyone can make arguments on behalf of their beliefs. They can cite examples of people who have escaped disease and lived long. Some argue morality and ethics, such as those who say sentient animal life should not be sacrificed for food. Others set their eating practices by the standards of holy writ that eschew certain forms of foods and sanctify others. Others just eat what tastes good and that’s logic enough for them.

Eating beliefs seem to take on an almost religious character. People feel guarded and pretty zealous about food and don’t like others meddling. But since health is intimately linked to what we take into our mouths, thinking, honest reflection and willingness to change are in order.

It is easy to be deceived because wrong food choices may not manifest their full impact until late in life. Nutrition can even pass through genetically to affect later generations. In this regard, food ideas are also like religion in that hundreds of different sects can each claim to have the truth. But none of them needs to fear disproof since adjudication will not occur until everyone is dead and gone to the afterlife."

Impossible=Possible - by Dr. Randy Wysong

Impossible=Possible - by Dr. Randy Wysong: "Even if the chance that all the events coming together perfectly to create life on Earth is virtually an impossible probability with staggering odds (which it is), we are told by evolutionists that it should not matter. As the physicist Stenger says, “Why not? Given all possibilities, why shouldn’t it have happened? And why not all other possibilities as well? Our universe was formed in one of the infinite number of ways it could have formed. The particular structure of our universe came about by chance, freezing into form just like the six points of a snowflake.” So the evolutionist loads the dice with infinite universes and infinite time and that makes the impossibility of life coming to be by chance not a long shot, but a virtual surety.

Before we permit ourselves to get too excited about this “anything is possible” argument, let’s set the ground rules. If anything is possible—apples jumping off the ground and reattaching to trees, humans hatching out of chicken eggs, the desert sand turning into ocean, life emerging from lifeless matter—then there can be no certainty about anything. All science would end and we would fear putting one foot in front of the other because of the possibility of the floor turning to quicksand or disappearing entirely."

Life Long Learning Goals - by Linda Geyer

Life Long Learning Goals - by Linda Geyer: "Having a competitive edge in business, your career, and in your life can allow you to have a goal to change the world by making the small things matter. This might sound as if you can single-handedly, relying on your own wits and where-with-all, transform and impact the world by yourself. For some of us, this is our destiny, our big hairy audacious goal in life. For others, the competitive edge is an on-going passionate pursuit, not so much a destination, but a driving force of our future, our career, and our lives!

To develop the competitive edge, many will need help in certain areas of their lives to reach their full potential. It will not happen overnight. You need to set a goal, plan, take action, and have personal growth a priority to have success. This is where goal-setting and prioritizing comes in, both in your professional and personal lives.

Two ways to empower and create the competitive edge in business, career, and life, both personally and professionally, is by setting a goal for personal development. Decide how to make the most of every opportunity. Even the things we take for granted, like time, talent, and money will have significant and meaningful impact. "

Nice Guys Vs Good Men - by Scot McKay

Nice Guys Vs Good Men - by Scot McKay: "We know that 'Nice Guys' tend to end up in the dreaded 'Just Be Friends Zone'. But that doesn't stop women everywhere from claiming that's what they really want in a man. So what's the deal here?

As often seems to be the case, the true answer is a disarmingly simple one. 'Nice' behavior by a man in and of itself is not what differentiates 'keepers' from the 'rejects' in the minds of women. To the contrary, it's all about HOW the man presents himself.

Make no mistake, it's not necessarily the I/Js (Idiot/Jerks) who get women-ESPECIALLY the highest echelon of women. Being 'good' or 'bad' in and of itself is NOT the key, despite what you may have heard elsewhere. In fact, being a 'bad boy' is at best a quick-fix for getting some women…any women who'll take him, as long as she's 'hot'.

Whether they are 'good' or 'bad', it is my informed and therefore strong opinion that guys rarely if ever get tossed into the 'friendship' pile if they have succeeded in any way, shape or form at creating ATTRACTION. Sure, there's the rare instance when a truly sharp woman recognizes that a guy is flat-out no good for her despite her overpowering desire for him, but let's face it-that wasn't a GOOD MAN she was dealing with anyway. And you know by now that we LOVE truly sharp women around here.

So here it is: The difference between a genuinely good man who ATTRACTS women and one who ultimately does not is centered around from what position he is coming from in performing his 'good guy' behavior. Men who act 'nice' from a position of WEAKNESS end up rejected. Men who are in a position of STRENGTH, yet who treat women well often make women so crazy for them that they have more options than they can handle."

Techniques For Accelerating Personal Growth - by Saleem Rana

Techniques For Accelerating Personal Growth - by Saleem Rana: "The most fascinating theme in any movie is the transformation of the main character, who evolves from a lower state of awareness to a higher one. Although this theme is repeated with minor variations in one movie after another, people do not tire of it because it represents their own story.

The meaning of life may itself be entirely about personal growth. Enlightenment is the final vision, where you see everything in a whole new light, with the universe and your neighbors as part of a massive conspiracy of beauty, elegance, love, and wisdom.

Personal growth happens by default.

Life itself forces it to happen.

The more stimulating the environment, the more it challenges you to accelerate your personal growth.

Personal growth can be defined as the evolution of awareness, a journey from a narrow, dysfunction perspective to a broader, functional one. It is an expansion of perception."

Improving Communications with Customers or Clients - by Kevin Eikenberry

Improving Communications with Customers or Clients - by Kevin Eikenberry: "One of our most important skills, both personally and professionally, is our ability to communicate. We use our communication skills all day, every day. Given that importance and frequency, you would think we all would have these skills mastered. Unfortunately, this isn’t true.

There are many situations where we all would like to be better at this highly important skill. One of those situations is communicating with customers or clients.

Before you stop reading, because you think you don’t deal with customers, recognize that within any organization and any work process, customer/supplier relationships exist – even between you and your colleagues. Besides, the tips that follow will help you communicate better with your boss too.

Now that everyone is still with me, let’s identify why these communications can be challenging.

It can be tough when we, the supplier, need something from a customer but feel it is difficult to come out and ask for it because, well, they are the customer and it is our job to serve them. Sometimes though, we know that with better or timelier information, or if they would do something differently, we would be able to serve them better. And sometimes it is harder to give a difficult message to customers because of our desire to serve and please them.

Here are four things you can do to help get over these challenges and improve your communications – and likely your relationships – with your Customers."

Unexpected experience in the first flight - by Robert Palmer

Unexpected experience in the first flight - by Robert Palmer: "UNEXPECTED IN FIRST FLIGHT EXPERIENCE

When I sent my relatives to airport for overseas trip, I imagine how nice in the air or flight. However, it is nonsense if I do not have business to travel by flight. In addition, I do not think that flight would be bad for me.

I was very happy when I received an invitation for an interview of master programmed session. I was happy because I had been waiting for it for two years. I decided to book a return flight from Kota Bharu to Kuala Lumpur. I thought I would not have a problem with my first flight .What is more , my boss gave me only two days holiday. So , to make sure I was rested when I arrived , I decided to go to Kuala Lumpur by air.

With confidence, I drove happily early in the morning to the airport. I did not think to have breakfast first, because I did not expect to have any trouble.
I checked in for an early bird flight, and rushed to the airport. However, I did not allow enough time and reached the airport slightly late. I rushed quickly just to take a curry puff and tea. Then I heard that passengers to Kuala Lumpur must assemble at the departure hall immediately.

This was the first time I had been to the hall. It is not so big but it can be filled with 300 people for a domestic flight. I had to queue patiently to have my ticket check. Waiting for me was a beautiful curly haired flight attendant with her red uniform. All passengers seemed to be moving fast in order to have a few minutes more for departure time."

Mole Removal – Your Moles Are Not As Innocent As They Look - by Davion Wong

Mole Removal – Your Moles Are Not As Innocent As They Look - by Davion Wong: "Mole removal is something which not many people would consider unless it is necessary for various reasons. Some celebrities would even celebrate having those beauty moles on the right places, enhancing their beauty and looks. People would want to get rid of those moles when they are ugly and affect the general appearance of the individual especially when they grow on obvious body areas such as the face, neck or even specifically near the eyes, or mouth. Others remove them because of the enormous numbers they have grown into, affecting the daily activities of the individuals. But there is a third group of people who have no choice but to remove them and these are the ones whose moles have become malignant and cancerous. I would share with you some tips on identifying whether your moles are suspicious and what you show do next.

Moles are skin growths that are generally darker than your surrounding skin. This is understandable as they originate from pigment-producing skin cells called melanocytes. When these cells cluster and congregate together in one place rather than spreading evenly, a mole is born. Moles do not have a specific favorite place to appear as they can show up just about anywhere on our bodies and in the early childhood years."

The Ethics of Peer-To-Peer Networks - by Peter Nisbet.

The Ethics of Peer-To-Peer Networks - by Peter Nisbet.: "There is nothing illegal about peer-to-peer networks, and nothing illegal with using them to distribute files. What is illegal is to use these networks and associated software to download material which is protected by copyright.

It is not always obvious what is still copyright protected, though you can be fairly certain that anything recent, such as recent chart hits or new computer games, cannot be legally copied using P2P software. Blockbuster films will also be copyright protected, but there are many films which have been specifically made for free distribution.

There are lots of new artists who use peer to peer networks to get themselves known. There are many computer games which are released on P2P networks to have them tried out prior to fixing the bugs and releasing them for general sale. This is the one aspect of the use of P2P services that makes me think of the morality of such networks rather than the legality.

The reasons for observing copyright restrictions are well known. Copyright is a protection of an artist's work from plagiarism and unauthorized copying. If everyone copied every piece of music or every film from a free online service such as peer-to peer networks, then the originators and the artists would make no money from them. This would result in the breakdown of the entertainment industry, and I can understand that line of reasoning.

So don't get me wrong. I am not proposing that people should be allowed to break the law, and I firmly agree that copyright violation should be illegal and should be punished. My argument is against the movie and music industry and their false morality in campaigning for such high fines for copyright violation by young kids while condoning, and in some cases positively encouraging, lawbreaking, obsce"

Don't Make These 3 Common Public Speaking Mistakes When Introducing Someone - by Deborah Torres Patel.

Don't Make These 3 Common Public Speaking Mistakes When Introducing Someone - by Deborah Torres Patel.: "I made what I consider to be 3 big mistakes recently when I was introducing someone. I outlined the information to cover, jotted some statistics to share, and carried them with me onstage. Unfortunately, because we were running short for time, the introduction didn't powerfully lead back to the audience benefit and my total admiration and respect for the upcoming speaker.

For some strange reason, I didn't make the time to practice what I was going to say out loud. Not practicing aloud caused me to relearn 3 very important things."

Overcoming Depression: A Lesson From The Life Of Elijah - by Rob Marshall

Overcoming Depression: A Lesson From The Life Of Elijah - by Rob Marshall: "One of my favorite Old Testament stories is about Elijah. The story starts in 1 Kings 18 where we read about Elijah challenging the Israelites to decide whether they would serve God or Baal. To help them make their decision, he challenged the 450 prophets of Baal to a little contest. They were both going to prepare a sacrifice, and whichever god answered by fire, that god would really be God.

The prophets of Baal tried all day, and nothing happened. But when Elijah prayed, God caused His fire to come down and burn up the sacrifice, the wood, the water that Elijah had poured on the sacrifice, the stones, and the dirt around the altar.

When the people saw what God did, they fell down and worshipped Him. It was a powerful sign, and a great victory for God and Elijah, who then ordered the people to kill all the prophets of Baal.

And if that wasn't a great enough victory, the story goes on to tell us that Elijah prayed that rain would come to end a three-and-a-half year drought, and God answered his prayer with a deluge.

You might think that after experiencing such a great victory, and seeing God answer his prayer, that Elijah would be feeling pretty good. And he probably was, until he got some bad news."

The Art and Science of Physical Invincibility - by Peter Ragnar

The Art and Science of Physical Invincibility - by Peter Ragnar: "I once saw an old farmer lift the rear end of a pickup truck and push it off the ice where it was spinning its wheels. He had never touched a weight in his life. But that's nothing compared to the little old ladies who have performed the same feat in an emergency!

Here's another one for you to chew on.
A nine-year-old boy playing on a construction site had an 1800-pound cast iron pipe roll onto him. As he struggled in the sand, a passerby who was a 56-year-old heart patient ran up and lifted the pipe off the boy's head. By the way, how's your dead lift?

These are amazing and true accounts of superhuman strength performed by ordinary people. You've got to be wondering as I once did how can you tap into the source of such power? Oddly, the creation of such a mighty force does not require bulging muscles. If you will for a moment, consider a fire hose.

When not in use, it is soft and pliable, but when water is flowing through it, not even the strongest of men can bend it. Actually, the body itself has twelve similar hoses, called meridians. You can consider these as internal rivers of energy that connect to your organs. Your internal water is an electrically and magnetically charged flow of liquid crystals on which the force of life travels."

Using Lobsters To Explode Your Business - by Greg Roy.

Using Lobsters To Explode Your Business - by Greg Roy.: "Let's open this article with a true story. A friend, who is a lobsterman, makes it a habit to bring 5 or 6 lobsters with him when he brings his pickup truck to the auto dealership to be worked on by a mechanic.

The first time he did this, he gave the lobsters to the particular mechanic who was going to work on his truck when he dropped it off in the morning. He simply said, 'You'll be working on my truck today, and I wanted to bring you these as a way of saying thank you. These are for you.' The mechanic was tickled pink (to use an old expression that my grandmother taught me).

Do you think the truck was ready in the afternoon when the lobsterman went back to get it? You're darn right it was! Do you think the mechanic did his best job to impress the lobsterman with the quality of his work? You're darn right he did! Do you think the other mechanics at this dealership wanted to work on the lobsterman's truck the next time it came in for servicing? You're darn right they did! They all argued over who got to work on his truck. There is a lesson in this story for the shrewd business person to learn and profit from.

Believe it or not, you can explode the size and volume of your business very quickly by using live Maine lobsters."

How To Become a Blog Star! - by Jim DeSantis

How To Become a Blog Star! - by Jim DeSantis: "To make your blog worth reading and revisiting you need to think about the type of content that is suitable for your blog in order to make it readable and, possibly, profitable. First off, I want you to understand that many blogs have no fixed scope, which means many bloggers write about whatever they are interested in. Other bloggers will target specific topics and stick to those. In a minute you will see why topics may be the reason a visitor first comes to your blog but it is not the main reason they will come back, again and again.

The difference between a blog worth revisiting and one that is forgotten about is the way the blog is written. Just imagine, would you prefer to read your university professor’s lecture notes or the latest novel by your favorite author?

I will say you prefer to read the novel because it appeals more to your interest and because it is not as mind-numbing as the lecture notes by your professor. The most important point to remember is people like to read “light” stuff most of the time. You see, when people log on to your blog, they are not only looking for information – they are also looking for information they can obtain easily. They want it in a relaxed manner and entertaining if possible.

You might be thinking - 'I can't write that way. Never could get the hang of it'. I assure you, you can write that way.

Here are some key points that will transform your writing style."

How To Sell Your Home More Profitable - by Michael Hehn

How To Sell Your Home More Profitable - by Michael Hehn: "The only way to keep up with the latest about sell your home is to constantly stay on the lookout for new information. If you read everything you find about the how to sell your home it won't take long for you to become an influential authority.

Admit it for years, or even decades? it has truly been your home sweet home. And now, you refer to it as a plain property? to sell.

Selling a home need not be a bitter encounter. We should healthily treat it as a source of marketable commodity, a money-generating property, a real estate. We should see our property as not just a plain house or a shelter, but as a fortress! In selling a home, we should also let other people (especially prospective buyers) get the same home sweet home experience we had.

One good move in selling a home is to first cut off your personal attachment from it. Have it ready for others to see and in time, they will consider buying it.

People usually are not looking for big houses. They might consider the size more important if they have a large family, but most probably they will look for the comfort and homey feeling it brings. In selling a home, remember to restore its best features? just like the way it looked when you first stepped in."

10 Ways to Quit Smoking Forever - by Kevin Dark

10 Ways to Quit Smoking Forever - by Kevin Dark: "Quitting is big business, and there's an endless array of ways to spend money on kicking the habit. Smokers spend about $2,400 per year on cigarettes, so, while some of the products and therapies are expensive, they are still less expensive than a life-long smoking habit. As with all programs, each person is different, so everyone will respond to a program in a different way. Giving up smoking is like giving up a neurotic relationship. Ultimately there comes a day when the decision is made, only to return to what you know is bad for you. Premature wrinkles and yellow teeth don't deter smokers - so, how do you quit? Here are some of the most popular program today.

Many people try to quit cold turkey. It's the easiest method to begin. Simply stop smoking and resolve -through willpower alone - to never take another puff. The success rate is about 3-5% because most smokers are not prepared to take on both sides of quitting: intense withdrawal cravings and smoking habits. If you have had a difficult time trying to quit in the past, studies show you should consider trying an assisted quit method"

History Of Grapevines - by Patrick Malcolm

History Of Grapevines - by Patrick Malcolm: "The first documentation of grapevines growing in the Americas was discovered in researching the logbook of navigator Giovanni de Verazzano, who reported in 1504 that a large 'white grape' was vigorously growing at Cape Fear, North Carolina. The English explorer of the New World, Sir Walter Raleigh, confirmed in a letter to Arthur Barlowe in 1585, the discovery of a white grape (scuppernong), when he landed in coastal North Carolina.

The 1500's ancient discovery of native grapevines growing in America was followed by numerous Spanish settlements along the coast of the United States where introduced old world grapevines were planted alongside the native American grapevines. That interplanting resulted in natural crosses of hybrid grapevines, a blending of the characteristics of both types. The French navigators were also exploring territories and lands surrounding Louisiana and were planting European grape vine varieties from the South of France, that also hybridized with native American grapevines. The English settlers established colonies in 1733 in Savannah, Georgia and Fort Frederica, on Saint Simon's Island, Georgia, under General James Oglethorpe, who was the first Governor of Georgia. These English colonies brought in seeds of grapes from Europe that were planted and grown in small farm vineyards. Those transplants intermixed with native grapevines that grew in woods nearby, and this intermixing resulted in new grape hybrids that were spread by the Indians and colonists everywhere. It is believed that these hybrids produced some selections such as Concord, Niagara, Catawba, and others that were identified as growing naturally in the woods by the great American explorer William Bartram, in his book, Travels, as Vitis labrusca by botanists today."

A Brief History Of Everything - by Saleem Rana

A Brief History Of Everything - by Saleem Rana: "I was wondering about how everything we know came together to be the way it is right now and what will happen to us as a species.

The story of everything started 15 billion years ago.

The universe, as we know it, was created by an enormous explosion of matter to create space-time. A fiery, dense universe started to inflate.

For three billion years, optically dense matter/energy decoupled and created an invisible universe.

It took another billion years for clusters of matter to form. As heavier nuclei synthesized they formed protogalaxies.

After more than 5 billion years after the big bang, galaxies formed. Later, new galaxies, more like our own, with heavier nuclei came into being.

Around the 10 billion year-mark, our solar system, with orbiting planets formed.

A billion years later, in the primordial oceans of earth, atoms combined to form macromolecules capable of self-reproduction and self-assembly. This was DNA, the basis of all life."

The Cycle Of A Trend - by Martin Chandra

The Cycle Of A Trend - by Martin Chandra: "In this lesson we are going to look at the different stages of a trend and how it can help you position yourself for a trade. It is commonly accepted that there are four stages of a trend. These stages make up a cycle and each cycle has smaller cycles contained within them. It doesn't matter whether you like to trade with 5-minute charts or monthly charts. Each market will be in some stage of the cycle as you are observing it.

Before you even think about getting into a trade you should have some idea of where the market is in the cycle. This will help you avoid making the wrong entry. For example, if you have identified stage two of the cycle it doesn't make sense for you to be short in an up stage.

Stage One"

Who Earns the Most Based on Their Educational Level - by Ed Bagley

Who Earns the Most Based on Their Educational Level - by Ed Bagley: "Colleges and universities are fond of reminding anyone who will listen that there is great value in earning a bachelor's degree. In the most recent statistics available the U. S. Census Bureau tends to agree.

Results from the 2004 Census Bureau report shows a $23,000 difference between the average annual salary of adults with a bachelor's degree ($51,554) compared to adults with a high school diploma ($28,645).

In what may or may not be an anomaly, the income gap narrowed slightly from five years earlier when bachelor's degree graduates made nearly twice as much as high school graduates.

The percentage of Americans 25 and older with a bachelor's degree rose to 28%, and the percentage with a high school diploma rose to 85%. In 1970, 36 years ago, only 11% of Americans had a bachelor's degree and a little more than half had a high school diploma.

It is probable that the increase over time has had much to do with the advent of technology in our society, and the impact of Internet accessibility to the general public in 1993 and 1994 through the creation of browsers."

How An Ebay Buyer Can Negoiate Like A Pro - by Mary Greenwood

How An Ebay Buyer Can Negoiate Like A Pro - by Mary Greenwood: "When you are buying on eBay, you must use common sense, good judgment and caution. Although most of the sellers on eBay are honest, there are some unscrupulous sellers and you must take proper precautions before bidding on an item. There are also many scams and fraudulent schemes on the internet so you want to protect yourself. The following rules will help a buyer negotiate on eBay.

1) Learn About The Seller Before Bidding.

See how many negative feedbacks and total positive feedbacks the seller has. If he has less than 10 feedbacks, he may either be a newbie (new on eBay) who does not have much knowledge of eBay or he may have sold under a previous identity and recently started a new account with a different ID. This sometimes means that the seller had a lot of negative feedbacks on the old account and has opened a new account to get a fresh start. From the buyer's perspective, this is usually not a good sign. If the seller has 100 per cent positive feedback and many transactions, that is a positive sign. However, see whether the feedbacks are for the same kind of items as the listing you want to bid on. Some sellers have accumulated positive feedbacks for relatively cheap items and then committed fraud on a very high priced necklace or plasma television. If there is negative feedback, see if it is an isolated incident or whether there are several negative feedbacks for the same kind of conduct. Some buyers bid on an item and then are surprised when the seller treats them the same way he treated the buyers who left negative feedback. Also see when the negative feedback was given. If fairly recent, that might be a red flag. If the feedback was last year, it is probably an isolated problem. If the seller has a website or eBay store, check that out to see what "

A Secret Method for Success - by Michael A. Verdicchio

A Secret Method for Success - by Michael A. Verdicchio: "A successful life is developed and accomplished by building one success upon another. What if a very simple method for success existed? What if this method was easy enough to use every single day in order to build success?

Here's a simple method to develop success. It will give you success momentum! It's very easy, anyone can do it, and it works. If you consistently apply it, you can develop and build a successful life."

How To Create Your Own Emergency Fund? - by Cornie Herring

How To Create Your Own Emergency Fund? - by Cornie Herring: "Do unexpected car repairs, quarterly insurance payments or unexpected medical bills find you hard pressed to squeeze even one more dollar out of an already stretched monthly budget? These are inevitable expenses and sometimes can put you under a stress condition when you need the cash to pay for these emergencies and unexpected expenses. But if you learn to budget for these emergencies events and save in advance, you will be at a better position to handle them.

Like most of Americans, you may stretch your income to cover the regular monthly expenses, and always choose to ignore or not to think about the brakes that are getting spongy or the plumbing that's beginning to make strange noises. And you end up a surge on your monthly expenses when the brakes wear off and the plumbing break out.

Planning and saving for those events can help prevent an ordinary life from turning into a crisis and can also cut down dependence on credit cards. Not having savings is a major reason people get into debt.

Here are some steps to help you get started to plan for your emergency fund, the 'Saving' fund which will help you prevent financial disaster. "

How To Submit Articles - by Nathan Park

How To Submit Articles - by Nathan Park: "Article submission is a proven, effective method of promoting your website and increase search engine rankings. By publishing quality content to article directories, and various other online locations, you benefit your website by ultimately increasing the number of back-links, whilst also generating natural traffic from increased link exposure.

Submitting articles online is a fairly cost effective way to improve your search engine ranking. Provided you write your articles technically well, as far as the article directories requirements are concerned, and of course, provided you have something worthwhile to say, your article submitting campaign should prove fruitful. By writing articles that are substantially useful, you'll help establish your name as an industry leader, which will also help establish your company and your brand online. In addition to that, it will also encourage additional links to your article, and subsequently to your website, which is exactly what you're looking for in any article submission for SEO campaign."

Forex Trading Basics: Supply & Demand Fundamentals - by Martin Chandra

Forex Trading Basics: Supply & Demand Fundamentals - by Martin Chandra: "The objective of currency trading is to exchange one currency for another with the expectation that the market rate or price will change such that the currency pair you have bought has appreciated in value relative to the currency you have sold.

If the currency you have bought appreciates in value and you close your open position by selling this currency, or effectively buying the currency that you originally sold, then you are locking in a profit. If the currency depreciates in value and you close your open position by selling this currency, or effectively buying the currency you have sold, then you are realizing a loss.

Cardinal Rule: All trades result in the buying of one currency and the selling of another, simultaneously.

The Year 2037 and the Internet - by Roy King

The Year 2037 and the Internet - by Roy King: "A few days ago I was surfing the Internet doing some relevant research work for the newsletter. As I clicked through endless website pages that seemed alike, I had to constantly look up at the website address bar to make sure I was not stuck on the same site. Seeking relevant information to post-up for our subscribers, I felt somewhat bored and dissatisfied. Everything appeared and seemed the same. Nothing was new or exciting. At that point I glanced at my wall calendar and looked at the year, it read 2006.

The next day, I recalled my frustrated journey online involving searching for information. I realized that my psyche was not happy with the framework of the World Wide Web.

I sat at my desk and paused awhile, I allowed my mind to drift off thinking about super-nerds, geeks, computer techs, computer engineers, software designers, and the movers and shakers of the Internet world. What were they doing today?

The scene that came directly to my mind was a selective team of Hi-tech yuppies, maybe about twenty-five of them. They had just sat down at a round cherry inlaid conference table. The wooden table was huge, water glasses and a yellow pad of paper was at each seat.

The atmosphere was relaxed and causal. One interesting fact that stood out was the look on each of their faces. Their faces reflected their definite determination.

This was an arranged rendezvous of the Super-Masterminds of the World Wide Web. Their Agenda- Take it to the next level, It's time.

Finally a door opened, a young man about thirty two years old entered the meeting room. The man was well dressed in an expensive suit, and portraying a let's get it done attitude.

Everyone sitting at the wooden table began to pick up their pens and started writing s"

Do you really have an irreconcilable difference divorce? - by Razvan Marian

Do you really have an irreconcilable difference divorce? - by Razvan Marian: "In the state of Tennessee to dissolve a marriage without the other parties consent requires that you have grounds to divorce. Certain states have true no-fault divorces that don’t require one party to prove grounds. Grounds are a reason recognized by the state of Tennessee that they will allow you to get a divorce for. They range from adultery, abandonment, to a catchall inappropriate marital conduct that can include a variety of behaviors that it is “inappropriate” for one married person to do to another. Tennessee code section 36-4-101 sets out the fifteen grounds. Among those ground is one called “irreconcilable differences”.

As a lawyer who does divorces in Memphis this is what about half your clients will want when the call you. Some lawyers here advertise they can do one for $225 plus court costs in the Memphis Commercial Appeal! The problem is this really isn’t a ground for divorce under Tennessee law.
You see in Tennessee to get a divorce for irreconcilable difference you must have a signed and notarized Marital Dissolution Agreement that sets forth how all the property will be divided and who gets what. If you have children then you also need a completed parenting plan where you agree on all details, a child support worksheet based on that plan, and to take a parenting class. "

Revolution vs Resolution - by Gregory Anne Cox

Revolution vs Resolution - by Gregory Anne Cox: "Ok, fess up, you are thinking about making some resolutions for the new year. Or, maybe like me, you can't bring yourself to create another list of good intentions only to find, come February, that you have ditched the goals because 'I can never make them stick and do what I say I'm going do?'

The desire to change and improve is still there regardless. In order to get a different result this year, we have to do what? We have to do something differently.

I've got some suggestions and they start with this idea:"

Investing Thoughts For Your Fitness - by Steven Dailly

Investing Thoughts For Your Fitness - by Steven Dailly: "Physical fitness may be the ultimate investment opportunity. Think of it this way. If you are willing to make the commitment (investment), you will feel and look healthier, have an abundance of energy, be more self-confident, more productive and discover a more joyous and fulfilling life. These are rewards that money cannot buy and the substance of high quality living. And, the investment of exercise becomes even more attractive when you consider that there is absolutely no down-side risk. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose. How much better can it get? How many times can you remember ever having a better offer? The honest answer is probably never, and yet many of us fail to act on this extraordinary opportunity. We simply choose to procrastinate or ignore the proven benefits of exercise!

Here are a few reasons that sometimes inhibit our willingness to 'step out' and make a change or take a chance:"

Basics Of A Stock Screener - by William Smith

Basics Of A Stock Screener - by William Smith: "The basic course of action of a Stock Screener is, of searching for companies that meet definite financial criterion. It has three components namely a database of companies, a set of variables and a screening engine that finds the companies that satisfy those variables and generates a list of matches.

Here, it can be the well admitted that selecting good stocks isn't easy at all. In the recent count there were over 17,000 publicly traded companies in the United States alone. The steep volume of companies makes zeroing in on a good stock quite difficult.

Similarly, the huge amount of data on the web doesn't make things any easier. It's actually a hard task to sort out the useful information from the worthless data. Fortunately, a Stock Screener can help you focus on the stocks that meet your standards and suit your strategy. Here we look at what a Stock Screener is and how it can work for you.

The Stock Screener features include a detailed technical and comparative company reports for each symbol along with hundreds of prescreens using both the technical and also the fundamental strategies. Each prescreen is connected and can be modified from the interface by the user.

This also includes a full technical report, standard and poors balance sheet, intra-day charting and the company profiles too. This combination of features makes the Stock Screener the most powerful screener available."

An Open Letter To A Dying Planet - by Saleem Rana

An Open Letter To A Dying Planet - by Saleem Rana: "It will soon be a new year and we are almost a quarter of the way into the first decade of the new century. Where are we heading now? What will happen to the human race? Will it overcome its shadow side and migrate to the stars, a vision of Star Trek, or will it annihilate itself, the way the Roman empire, the greatest empire on earth, the pride of the ancient world, whose brilliant legislature, political organization, unrivalled military might, grand architecture, innovative engineering and artistic achievements have now been relegated to dusty archives?

The future of humanity depends on awareness of its plight. Without awareness, extinction is highly possible. With awareness, a critical mass for change can happen.

At no time in the last ten thousand years since the Ice Age have we exhibited such astonishing genius or such abominable disregard for sentient life. Somehow we have arrived here in this new century despite the worldwide suffering and traumatic events of the past one.

The greatest peril facing our species may be the overpopulation of our planet. Our very success with science and technology to improve the survival of all human life may be our downfall. The current rate of growth is about 1.9 percent a year. This may not sound like an alarming figure but it means that the population doubles every forty years. Right now it is around 6 billion. By the end of this century it will be around 40 billion. By then, it will be too late to do anything. That is the current lifetime left for humanity unless we become sophisticated enough to migrate to the stars."

Buying and Selling Options - by Martin Chandra

Buying and Selling Options - by Martin Chandra: "Now, let's consider stock and stock options for a moment. Consider the ubiquitous XYZ Corp., currently trading at $95 per share on 2/1/03. If you pay $4 per share for a March call on 100 shares of XYZ at the $100 strike price, you have acquired the right to buy 100 shares of XYZ for $100 per share, any time before the third Friday in March. This cost you $400, plus commissions.

If XYZ is investigated for 'irregular accounting practices' (the equivalent of discovering a toxic waste spill in the backyard), the share price may drop to $50. The call you paid $400 for is probably worth about $20. You've lost nearly 100% of your investment, and I wouldn't count on getting it back. But you've only lost $400.

Imagine if you had owned 100 shares of XYZ stock. What was worth $9500 yesterday is now worth $5000. That's a loss of $4500! Sure, you can wait for the stock to recover -- there's no time limit with stock.

The call, on the other hand, will expire worthless (or you'll sell it for next to nothing) in a few weeks, but would you rather lose $400 or $4500? Would you prefer to hang on for years, waiting for XYZ to double in price so you can break even, or would you rather accept your $400 loss and move on to the next opportunity?"

Define The Stock Market - by William Smith

Define The Stock Market - by William Smith: "The Stock Market is a market for the trading of company stocks, and the likes of the same. In Stock Market both of these are securities listed on a stock exchange as well as those that are only traded privately.

Though it may seem common, the term Stock Market is a somewhat abstract concept for the mechanism that enables the trading of company stocks. It is usually also used to describe the totality of all stocks in the market and indeed other securities, with the exception of bonds, commodities, and derivatives.

The term market is used especially to apply within one country as, to put up with within the phrase 'the Stock Market was up today', or within the term ' Stock Market bubble'. Bonds are still traditionally traded in an informal, over-the-counter market known as the bond market.

Commodities are usually traded in commodities markets, and derivatives are traded in a variety of markets but like bonds, mostly 'over-the-counter'. The size of the worldwide 'bond market' is estimated at $45 Trillion and the size of the Stock Market is estimated as about half that.

It must be noted though that the derivatives market, because it is stated in terms of notional outstanding amounts, cannot be directly compared to a stock or fixed income market, which refers to the actual value in a market."

The Challenges With Ebook Publishing - by Kathryn Lively

The Challenges With Ebook Publishing - by Kathryn Lively: "Browse around the Internet, and you will definitely see how many websites are taking advantage of the literary wave of the future: electronic books. Some websites serve as online repositories of public domain material, offering novels and documents for educational and recreational purposes. Online retailers like Fictionwise and Amazon.com offer downloadable, electronic versions of top selling books, and aspiring writers are taking advantage of the medium to establish readership.

One eBook publisher specializing in erotic romance titles claims to sell thirty thousand eBooks a month! Other small publishers of eBooks are proud to mention how they first published authors who now rank among the hottest sellers today.

For the author struggling to get his foot in the door of the publishing industry, publishing through electronic means may sound appealing. Compared to most traditional print publishers, eBook publishers tend to offer a higher percentage of royalties on net sales and allow for more author input on promotion and cover art. Turnaround time between submission and book release may be shorter, as production may not be as involved. However, as with any industry, there are caveats to consider.

For all the benefits of taking your book to an electronic publisher, there are also disadvantages one needs to realize. Any author preparing to take a manuscript to an editor or publisher should be aware."

Stop Shutting Your Partner Down In Times Of Disagreement - by Mark Webb

Stop Shutting Your Partner Down In Times Of Disagreement - by Mark Webb: "Pushing the issue is like what happens when you squeeze an orange. Squeezing the orange forces the juice that is on the inside to pour out. The same type of thing occurs when you squeeze someone who is already full of hurt and anger. What is on the inside is going to come out and it most likely is going to be messy. So you are better off to wait to discuss hot topics until you are feeling connected to each other again.

Plugging back into your relationship is the goal. Wounded relationships can heal. Every time you and your partner work your way back to the baseline, the relationship grows stronger.

The couple comes to realize what is necessary to return to baseline and they set out to do it. After a while, it becomes a habit. Great partners remember this when they are hurt and frustrated."

Survivor Winner, Yul Kwon - $1 Million Richer...But Still Searching for His True Calling - by Carol McClelland

Survivor Winner, Yul Kwon - $1 Million Richer...But Still Searching for His True Calling - by Carol McClelland: "Yul Kwon, the winner of the 13th season of Survivor, is quite accomplished. He's a graduate of UC Berkeley, Stanford, and Yale Law School. He's worked as a law clerk to a federal judge and as a legislative aide to Senator Joe Lieberman. Most recently he's worked as an independent business consultant and a business strategist at Google. Quite a resume for a 31 year old!

And yet, according to his friends, he's still searching for his true calling...a way to make a difference.

Since filming ended he's been taking time off to connect with friends and explore his interests. Although this may provide him with clues to his true calling, a random exploration of possibilities may not lead him to his dream career.

Just as Yul used strategy to win Survivor, there's a strategy he can use to discover his true calling. You can also use these seven strategies to identify your future career."

Taming Your To-Do List - by Kevin Sinclair

Taming Your To-Do List - by Kevin Sinclair: "The worst thing about to-do lists is they seem to breed every time you look away. Just as you think you're getting somewhere, another task needs to be added. It's downright depressing. You might be forgiven for wondering if there is anyone on earth who actually manages to tick off all the items on a to-do list before the end of the day.

Take heart. It is possible to tame your to-do list - and not by taking a pair of scissors to it to cut it in half. What you need to do is look beyond the list, at the way you handle your time.

Don't worry. This is not just another 'time management' lecture that you've heard a thousand times before. It's a simple, workable approach to taking back a measure of control. By following 4 easy steps, you can introduce more flexibility into your working week - and finally tame that list!"

How To Overcome Fear Of Flying - Pre Flight Tips - by Paul Tizzard

How To Overcome Fear Of Flying - Pre Flight Tips - by Paul Tizzard: "People with a fear of flying often fear the build up to taking a flight. Once off the flight, fearful flyers then dread the flight home for the fourteen days that they are away!

The main piece of advice we would give people with a fear of flying is preparation.

Maybe this sounds obvious?

The goal of travelling for anyone is to be as prepared as you can be. There was a saying in the military when I served which was that you are only as uncomfortable as you want to be.

This means giving yourself the best chances possible. I would divide the preparation into two parts practical and mental.

This article will give you a bit of the mental side to think about."

Understanding Options - by Martin Chandra

Understanding Options - by Martin Chandra: "Options are one of the oldest trading vehicles man has ever used. Around a 1000 B.C Aristotle Thales predicted by the stars that there would be a bumper olive harvest and bought options on the use of olive presses.

When the harvest did in fact prove to be a great harvest Thales was able to rent the presses at a significant profit.

When you buy an option you have the right but not the obligation to buy (call) or sell (put) a specific underlying asset at a prearranged price on or before a given date.

Similar to futures, options can give the holder protection against adverse price moves.

Call options when bought allow you to buy an asset at a fixed price (strike price) on or before a specific exercise date.

Exercise date: some options can only be exercised on a particular date and they are commonly know as European options. Options that can be exercised on or before the due date are commonly known as American options).

A Put options is the reverse of the call option. When you buy a put option it gives you the right but not the obligation to sell an underlying asset at a predetermined date."

What Is A Penny Stock? - by William Smith

What Is A Penny Stock? - by William Smith: "A Penny Stock is a share that trades from a penny to $5. Penny Stock has a large reward prospective with some having gone from a penny to $20 and even more too.

Actually, these stocks commonly refers to any stock trading outside one of the leading major exchanges like the NYSE, NASDAQ, or AMEX, and is often considered to be critical.

In other words, the definition of a Penny Stock is a low-priced, speculative security of a very small company, no matter what of market capitalization or whether it trades on a securitized exchange like the NYSE or NASDAQ or an 'over the counter' listing service.

A good example of the OTCBB or Pink Sheets too. The terms Penny Stock, microcap stocks, small caps, and nano caps are also all indeed new and are used interchangeably, however the stock status is determined by share price, not market capitalization or the listing service.

A Penny Stock basically has market caps under $500M and are considered extremely speculative, predominantly those that trade on low volumes over the counter. The Securities and Exchange commission warns that these stocks can trade on the odd occasion, which means that it can be difficult to sell Penny Stock shares once you own them.

Why Love Relationships Fail - by Bob Makransky

Why Love Relationships Fail - by Bob Makransky: "Love relationships fail because at no time in our training by society are we given a factual model of what a love relationship is, or how to make one succeed. There are fundamentally three levels on which intimate relationships operate, and our social training only prepares us to deal with one of them – the most superficial one – and even that one ineptly. This superficial level is called the expectations level. It is usually the only level we address consciously.

The expectations level consists of all our self-images and self-importance. When we primp ourselves in front of a mirror, what we are primping is our expectations of other people. It’s the level of our daydreams and fantasies, whereon everyone is as impressed with us as we are with ourselves.

On the expectations level what interests us the most about a prospective partner is his or her physical attractiveness, manner of dress and bearing, social and educational background, future prospects, how “cool” he or she is, how he or she reflects back on us, what others will think of us for having chosen this partner.

On the expectations level a “love relationship” is actually an approval agreement, a contract, To Wit: “The party of the first part hereby agrees to pretend to honor, love, cherish and obey the party of the second part; in return for which considerations the party of the second part agrees not to hurt, betray, nor expose to public embarrassment the party of the first part (see appended schedule of specific acts which shall be deemed to constitute ‘hurt’, ‘betrayal’, and ‘public embarrassment’). Any violation of this agreement by either party shall be considered valid grounds for spitefuln"

Background Checks - by Francesca Black

Background Checks - by Francesca Black: "If you have ever been employed, chances are good that you've had a background check run on you. Employers looking for reliable, trustworthy individuals will often use these reports to confirm that information given on a resume is true and ensure that they are hiring persons of high standards. But what is included in a background check? Do you have control over who can access your report? How can you find out what is on your record?

What is included in a background check? Specific details of an individual's past are revealed in a background check for purposes of employment. Depending on the company providing the background check, your report may include a range of information, including: criminal records, litigation records, driving and vehicle records, education records, licensing records, military records, social security number, property ownership, credit records, employment history, worker's compensation, medical records, sex offenders list, and interpersonal interviews (with neighbors and other character references). Some services offer nothing more than the information given in a phone book, while others employ private investigators that offer the whole gamut of information. Most employers hire an outside company to give them the type of information that is pertinent to the job you are being considered for."

The Secret to Change - by Roy E. Klienwachter

The Secret to Change - by Roy E. Klienwachter: "Most of us are slaves to habit and familiarity. Our present environment is a symbol of our present thoughts. My family is me, my job is me, my friends are me.

It has been observed a wounded animal will return to what is familiar. Because man is also an animal he likes familiarity and in time of trouble will also return to what is familiar. This bit of knowledge is how criminals are tracked down. For instance a white collar criminal who has expensive tastes in cars and fancy restaurants will not be difficult for the authorities to locate. He will be driving his favourite type of car to his favourite restaurant.

A wounded pet will make their way back home. There is a compelling force driving us to old surroundings because these surroundings remind us of how we were or are supposed to be-they are comforting and reassuring. It is no wonder old habits die hard. How do we break away from habit? What is the secret to changing a lifetime of habit?

There is very little growth in an adult. Researchers claim we stop using are brains around the age of thirty. We rely on what we have learned in the first thirty years to carry us over the next thirty. While I was studying NLP therapy, my instructor told me with counseling most people will only change about six percent. That wasn't high enough for me-I wanted to change the world. Scientists are not saying people who retire should go back to college to reactivate their minds. This has to be upsetting to those who have done the same things for sixty years. How does one go about changing years of habit? "

A Wiggle is Ill: 5 Ways to Answer Your Kid's Questions - by Lisa Copen

A Wiggle is Ill: 5 Ways to Answer Your Kid's Questions - by Lisa Copen: "Moms are mourning all around the world. We've sighed in relief that Greg Page, the founding band member and 'yellow Wiggle' is not living with a life-threatening disease, and yet he has resigned due to a chronic illness called orthostatic intolerance or POTS. For some time it's been a mystery illness, but in late November, he officially announced that doctors had solved the riddle of this illness, he shared his symptoms, diagnosis and sadly, his resignation.

I have a 3-year-old son and was introduced to the Wiggles when my baby sat in his boppy seat and I turned on the Disney channel for something lively. The brightly colored shirts and healthy songs about fruit salad caught my attention, and we've been fans ever since. I've been to two concerts and have acted pretty silly singing 'Quack, Quack, Quack-a-doodle-doo' determined to get our money's worth and make sure my child had fun.

But I'm also a mom who has lived with rheumatoid arthritis for the last thirteen years, and I admire how Greg Page kept up the fast-paced, exhausting touring, jumping up and down with Wags the Dog.

Whenever the Wiggles perform, whether in concert, or in an interview on the Today Show, they are in character, so in some odd way, the Wiggle's illness makes him more human. Whenever a celebrity goes public with an illness, I feel like they have joined my club."

Time Management vs Self Management - by Gail Solish

Time Management vs Self Management - by Gail Solish: "Are you someone who makes lists of all the things you need to do? At the end of the day when you review your list, are you disappointed because you haven't accomplished as much as you would have liked. Does this sound familiar to you?

We hear a lot about time management and how we need to organize ourselves and manage our time more effectively. In order to regulate our time, new ways of thinking and being need to be developed. Our attitudes and beliefs need to be identified and at times altered in order to make beneficial changes. We need to develop self management strategies. When we manage ourselves better we tend to be less overwhelmed, more productive and happier.

There are various models for time management. One is making daily and/or weekly lists, then prioritizing which items are the most important and tending to those first. Of course the challenge is that is if you don't like some of the tasks, you probably tend to avoid doing them. (I know this strategy intimately.) It also does not account for all of the complications which arise nowadays on our job. Emails, voice mails urgent requests which must be dealt with immediately, or conference calls; all of the modern technology which has made our lives easier and more complicated at the same time. We are generally expected to do more in less time and with less support."

Ten Must Have Free Software Packages for 2007 - by Catherine Matthew

Ten Must Have Free Software Packages for 2007 - by Catherine Matthew: "Out of the box software for your desktop or your internet site has changed so drastically in the last two years that most individuals are not aware of all the trends in the Open Source world. Having worked for Microsoft Corporation for a portion of my career, with stats such as 95% of the world uses Microsoft. I was in for a real eye opener on number of different software packages available in the Open Source world. Earlier, I was lead to believe that the Open Source world is full of unsupported and unreliable software, with no one to call if I need help. My question was, how could this be better than paid commercial software? After all Microsoft employs 70,000 people to get their software working.

I have put together a list of the top ten free tools for any internet professional. The first five are devoted to your desktop and the next five are for your website. If you do not have a website, you could consider getting one up and running with these free tools."

Successful Interviewing: 7 Questions You Must Always Ask - by Mr Sital Ruparelia

Successful Interviewing: 7 Questions You Must Always Ask - by Mr Sital Ruparelia: "Many businesses suffer from high levels of staff turnover simply because they have hired the wrong people in the first place. Similarly, many business owners go through the whole recruitment process and make an offer to someone they like only to find that they have chosen to take another role. Very often this 'mis - hiring' of people or 'missing out' on people is down to the way in which these people have been interviewed – in particular the questions that were are asked (or rather NOT asked!). You see, if you ask the right questions you drastically increase the chances obtaining enough information to then ensure you recruit the right people. The questions you ask at interview will depend on the type of role you are looking to fill, the type of business you are in and your own personal style. But there are 7 questions that you must ask every candidate regardless of the type of role you are hiring for:"

The Benefits of Ebook Publishing - by Kathryn Lively

The Benefits of Ebook Publishing - by Kathryn Lively: "It was quite a sight seven years ago, at the first and only Writer's Festival held at Franciscan University of Steubenville. As the moderator of an online writer's forum and a fledgling publisher of electronic books, I had been asked to speak on the future of eBook publication and distribution. While the concept of eBooks was still quite new at the time, my speech was blessedly short. Yet, I felt I offered an optimistic view of the industry, one that inspired the authors who came to hear me talk. Many had been writing for years, discouraged by constant rejection from the top publishers.

The most interesting part of the conference for me happened shortly afterward, when a young girl happened upon my booth. I had several eBook discs on display, along with a PDA reader and a laptop. She took one look and snorted, 'I'd rather read a real book.' My explanation that these were real books fell on deaf ears, and I am ashamed to admit my growing anger during the exchange. It got so bad that I had to excuse myself and leave the building.

Since then, I have been published in print format, though I continue to work in the eBook publishing industry. I am also to say I am very mellow these days when people turn their noses up at eBooks. Perhaps it is because I have seen the industry grow exponentially since that writer's conference, and have come into contact with authors who were able to quit their jobs and sustain themselves with eBook royalties. I know a few print-only authors who can't claim that!

Is eBook publishing an option for all authors? That I cannot answer with certainty, as different authors have different needs. Some authors do very well by self-publishing because they also possess the marketing savvy to sell their books. A less inclined author, by"

Tips For Effective Email Marketing - by Robert Burko

Tips For Effective Email Marketing - by Robert Burko: "Over the past few years, research has continued to prove the benefits of e-mail marketing for business: low costs, high conversion rates and detailed tracking are all notable features. But e-mail marketing is becoming much more than just a tool for spammers and e-businesses. Consumers are becoming increasingly savvy on the differences between spam and permission-based emails, and more and more of them are accepting permission-based e-mail marketing as a positive replacement for direct mail.

The best news is that the majority of people who receive permission-based e-mails open, on average, 78% of them.

Jupiter Research reports effective email marketing campaigns can produce nine times the revenues and 18 times the profits of broadcast mailings. But crafting an effective business email is both an art and a science. Here is a list of factors, potential problems and effective solutions to keep in mind:"

How To Buy a Suit - by Josh Stone

How To Buy a Suit - by Josh Stone: "The men's business suit: ubiquitous, ingrained, versatile, mandatory, and a staple of industrial age attire for over one hundred years. Considering how fashion trends normally fluctuate wildly even in the space of twenty years, it is amazing how little the basic business suit has changed. About the most variety offered is the color scheme, which varies through navy blue, gray, khaki, and camel. Here's a quick, easy guide to picking out the clothing ensemble which you'll spend a good portion of your life wearing:

Choosing a jacket style: The two-button, single-breasted jacket is a popular style, but three or four button jackets are also available and are usually seen in colder climates. Only thin men should wear formal double-breasted jackets, which tend to add bulk to your figure. They have to be kept buttoned at all times, or else the jacket hangs awkwardly.

Select a fabric, its color, and pattern. If you opt for a patterned fabric, check to see that the patterns line up at the shoulder and lapel seams. High-quality worsted wool is the most seasonally versatile fabric. Cotton and linen are better for summer wear. Avoid blends that are made with too much polyester, as they don't breathe well and look too cheap. The days of the polyester leisure suit are long dead, in places other than coastal California. Crumple the fabric to make sure it bounces back instead of wrinkling. You want a durable fabric that will go without dry-cleaning and pressing as much as possible."

Cold Calling: $13 Million Found with This Sales Strategy - by Leslie Buterin

Cold Calling: $13 Million Found with This Sales Strategy - by Leslie Buterin: "The story you are about to hear is true.

With the implementation of one well-crafted sales tactic, Gene surprised himself by making one phone call and getting a meeting with a senior executive. A man Gene and his team had been pursuing for more than one year!

The contract ended up serving the executive so well he had no reason to renew current contracts with eleven of Gene's competitors.

What a day that was! Better yet, the days that follow continue to be lucrative with a steady flow of sales coming from the powerful strategy used that day.

One cold call, one meeting, one $13 million contract … ba-da bing, ba-da boom!

Play-by-play reports of big sales bring shivers of delight to sales professionals. We meet. We talk. We share our stories of success. After all, that's where we get out jollies! We thrive on closing the deals ... and no one appreciates the sophisticated subtleties of these stories like other sales professionals"

Keeping a sheltie busy in an apartment - by Rick Martin

Keeping a sheltie busy in an apartment - by Rick Martin: "There we had him: our own cute, small, sable and white male sheltie puppy. After a while he was going to get bigger, though not as big as a Collie, with which a sheltie resembles in appearance. Nonetheless, we were told that, as a rule, shelties remain just at the level of a petite likeness to Collies. Soon we were going to find out what a sheltie really is, behind that apparently calm, lush fur. It was beginning to become pretty obvious that a name like Frisky – the name we had chosen for him – was just the appropriate one, describing him to in the minutest detail. However, our biggest issue concerned the manner in which we were going to accommodate our sheltie puppy with life in an apartment.

Fortunately enough, he is a male sheltie. It appears – or at least some say – that a male is preferred due to the fact that he is a bit – but only a bit – more devoted and friendly than its female counterpart. As we were going to learn it pretty soon, shelties tend to grow affectionate and loving pet companions in a fairly short while. It was probably this particular characteristic which was at the basis of the successful training of our dog. On the other hand, it is very unlikely that training should result unsuccessful on any sheltie, but you know how favorably inclined pet owners can be as regards their pets. "

Great Web Design Equals Great Sales - by Jack Menon

Great Web Design Equals Great Sales - by Jack Menon: "You have a fantastic idea for a business online. You know your industry and your products inside and out. You have a great marketing plan and you even shopped around and got the best rates for your merchant account, your shopping cart program for your website and you even calculated the shipping for your products so you got the best deal possible.

Then, you bought a domain name, web hosting and your brother-in-law offered to do your website for free which saved you thousands of dollars. You held your breath as your site was loaded onto the server and ...nobody came.

You can probably go back to two reasons that your site isn't working for you. "

Six Quick Writing Errors to Watch For - by Kathryn Lively

Six Quick Writing Errors to Watch For - by Kathryn Lively: "Before I was asked to step in as publisher for the romance imprint of a small press, I spent a considerable amount of time reviewing submissions for publication. Today, of course, I do even more of that, but now there is more at stake.

As a reader, I provided honest opinions on potential works for our house, and helped the publisher to determine which works suited our needs. Of those works, we pared the lot down further by determining which works did not require practical re-writes to fix the obvious errors in grammar, spelling, and structure.

As a publisher, this job becomes more important to me, because I have the final say regarding a submission's fate. Naturally, when an author sends me a novel, I expect to receive the cleanest, best edited draft possible. For me to accept a manuscript that needs a lot of work, despite the quality of the plot and characterization, can be costly in the long run. Ultimately it is my dream, and arguably the dream of any publisher and editor, to receive manuscripts that require little work.

Does this mean I expect everybody to turn in To Kill A Mockingbird or Gone With the Wind caliber work on the first try? Of course not. Some of our best-selling authors needed quite a bit of work before they were sent out into the world. It is my hope, as I continue to read final drafts, that authors will be able to master a few elements of grammar and structure that may easily be missed.

Mind you, I have made these same mistakes myself, and with conditioning and the help of some great editors I am proud to say I am a better writer now than I was ten years ago.

What follows below is a brief listing of my personal top offenders, rules that may be easily abided to lessen a publisher's frustrati"

Insider Techniques To Raise Your Credit Score Fast - by Jay Peters: "If you wish to increase your score from 580 to 650 then your strategy will be very different from someone wanting to go from 670 to 725. Why? Because you starting point is different which requires a different approach. Also, while the removal of negative items from a report will almost always lead to an increase in score, it's a basic concept at best. Therefore, within this article, we'll discuss somewhat inside techniques known by very few (since this is what our company specializes in publishing).

In relation to just removing negative items, these are techniques which you can use even if you have NO derogatory information on your credit report. We'll start with the most overlooked strategy first and that's your...

DEBT to CREDIT RATIO: The most fraudulent belief I've been hearing for over 15 years is 'I have excellent credit, I pay all my bills off in full every month!' This is a false belief for one to buy into and understanding your debt to credit ratio holds the key to getting your 'credit mindset' right."
