Teacher as Life Coach – Measure, Monitor & Improve Your Students Emotional State & Behavior - by Kelly Burris

Teacher as Life Coach – Measure, Monitor & Improve Your Students Emotional State & Behavior - by Kelly Burris: "Would Columbine have been prevented if there was a means of monitoring the student's emotional state? Would you be able to influence the rate of childhood obesity and eating disorders if there was a class on how an emotional state comes about and how to take control of it? Would you be able to reduce teen suicide if students understood how to take control of their subconscious? Would you have more control over your students and reduce disciplinary problems by empowering them to become independent thinkers? Would test scores improve if students were emotionally in control?

The answer to all of these questions is a definitive yes. Everything a human being does in life is emotionally driven. How you feel about everything in your life will determine whether you move toward it or not. If you agree this is true then how much sense does it make to at minimum measure the emotional state of your students? It makes perfect sense to Greg Marth a Special Education teacher who specializes in students with Behavioral Disorders and is now a Certified Life Coach and Lisa Watford who has been using a Clinically Proven Life Coach process with her students since 1992. Lisa wrote the following comments after implementing a couple of t"

How To Detect Autism In Your Child - by Jon A

How To Detect Autism In Your Child - by Jon A: "Parents obviously want the best for their children and always want to make sure that they are as happy as possible, as well as being as healthy as possible. One of the things that parents should watch for, however, is signs that their child might be suffering from autism or autistic spectrum disorder. The signs of this disease are not immediately obvious compared to a cut finger or bruised knee.

The signs of autism, if you are watching for them, are best to be discovered before the child reaches 1 year old. When caught early, the chances of minimizing the effects of autism are dramatically reduced. Even at very young ages such as a few weeks to a few months, you may be concerned if the child has little or no responsiveness to external stimuli, perhaps seems oblivious to parents or caretakers in the same room or holding them. As they get a bit older, another sign is a failure to anticipate movement, such as when you walk by or wave your hand in front of them."

What Is Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI)? - by Peter Nisbet.

What Is Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI)? - by Peter Nisbet.: "It would be easier to state what Latent Semantic Indexing is not, than try to explain what it is. Even a statistical mathematician would find it extremely difficult to explain the concept of LSI, sometimes referred to as latent semantic analysis, to a layman in just a few words!

LSI is not what most SEO experts claim it to be. It is certainly not a concept that can be used by the average web designer or webmaster to improve their search engine listings, and is not what many people, including myself, has written it to be. However, first some background.

Christians in America - An Unbelieving Generation? - by Rob Marshall

Christians in America - An Unbelieving Generation? - by Rob Marshall: "In a lot of ways I'm pretty average. I may be a bit taller than some, and probably weigh more than I should, but there isn't really anything extraordinary about me. So when I read the stories in the Bible, and think about how the majority of the people who were there reacted, I assume that I would have done what everyone else was doing.

One example is the story in Mark 9:14-29 about a father who brought his demon-possessed son to be healed. When the father came to the disciples, Jesus wasn't there. He was with Peter, James, and John and they were on their way back from the mountain where they had seen Jesus transfigured before their eyes. As they approached the other disciples they noticed that a large crowd had gathered, and that the teachers of the law were arguing with them.

When Jesus asked what they were arguing about, the man whose son was demon-possessed came and explained to Him how his son was being tormented by the spirit, and that he had asked the disciples to cast it out, but they hadn't been able to. It's at this point that Jesus says, 'O unbelieving generation, how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.' (Mark 9:19)

Like I said, I'm pretty average. If I had been one of the"

Keeping in Touch: 5 Alternatives to an Ezine - by Alicia Forest .

Keeping in Touch: 5 Alternatives to an Ezine - by Alicia Forest .: "I often hear from my clients and ezine subscribers that they aren't sure they can commit to writing a regular ezine as a way to keep in touch with their list, even though they know they 'should.'

My response is usually something like, 'if it's going to be an albatross, then don't do it!' But since they know that they must stay in touch with their email list on a regular basis if they want to have a successful and sustainable business, they are usually stumped for what to do instead.

Here are five ideas I typically share with them:
